Bridge other apps to your radio

HTCommander supports AGWPE, a protocol widely used in the amateur-radio community to connect packet-radio applications to a radio. With the AGWPE server enabled, other software can send and receive packets through HTCommander and your handheld.

Turning it on

Go to File → Settings, open the Services tab and enable the AGWPE Server. You'll generally keep the default port of 8000. Then point your packet application at that port — it will see a Port1: Handi-Talky Commander port. Sending on that port transmits on the radio's VFO1.
